Pharmacy First Scheme
This scheme is provided by local pharmacies who can see and treat some common minor illnesses, such as urine infections (in women), conjunctivitis, coughs & colds - check with your pharmacy for the full range of treatments provided.
We are using a new system called Care Navigation. This means signposting patients to the right person to help you with your health care needs, for example you can see a nurse practitioner or pharmacist practitioner for minor ailments such as chest infections, colds & coughs. Or we may direct you to pharmacy minor ailments scheme for example urine infections, bites, stings. Dr Sri would like to request that you help our practice by answering the simple questions asked by the reception staff on telephoning the surgery, so we may direct you to the appropriate health care professional
Please note we are operating only a small service from Weston Street Site from 17TH July 2017. All prescriptions, sick notes and choose & book paperwork will be available for collection from Longton Health Centre.
Practice Computer System
Please note we have now changed to new computer system. Patients who were previously registered for on-line services will need to re-register (ex-Drayton Road patients only) We are also live with electronic prescribing - please ask at reception if you would like your prescriptions to be sent directly to the pharmacy.
This practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records from 31st March 2016.
These dates are subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being available to the practice.
This practice currently offers the facility for patients
- to book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online
- to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances
- to view online, export or print summary information from their record, relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any other items agreed between the practice and individual patient
We will publicise and promote our online services to our practice’s patients through the practice website, practice waiting room leaflets, posters and the Patient Participation Group by 31st March 2016.
Please note that as a security measure patients will be asked to provide consent and proof of identification prior to access being granted by the practice.

Remember early diagnosis can save lives.
Allocated Named GP and Named GP With Overall Responsibility
As you may be aware, from April 2015, all practices have a requirement to inform registered patients of their allocated GP and the named GP who has the overall responsibility for their health care and support. The allocated GP and named GP for all registered patients at Adderley Green Surgery is Dr. Sri Sundaram. This does not mean that you can only see Dr. Sundaram, you may continue to see any other GP who is available within the practice.
Please welcome to our team, Pharmacist Prescriber, Naz Khideja. She will be helping out with medication reviews and running a minor ailments session at the practice. Naz is able to see and treat most common ailments including chest infections, urine infections, gastroenteritis, rashes, fevers as well as administering some vaccines.
LATE NIGHT OPENING
Please note that we are no longer offering early morning appointments on Thursday mornings. Following feedback from patients it has been noted that late night appointments would be more beneficial. As a result of this we are now offering late night appointments for minor ailments on Tuesday evenings, up until 7.30pm. Please note that there will not be any telephone access from 6pm during the late night surgery.
From August 2015 - March 2016 we will be offering vaccination against Meningitis for pupils in Year 13 and University Freshers between the ages of 19-24. Please contact the practice to arrange vaccination if you fall in any of these co-horts.
