Due to the Coronavirus, the surgery will be offering telephone triage appointments, where you will be assessed by a clinician and given advice or a face to face consultation if required. If you have respiratory ( breathing) symptoms, this will be at Weston Street surgery.
If you are suffering from any of the following Coronavirus symptoms:
a new continuous cough
a high temperature
Stay away from other people for at least the next 7 days, or until your symptoms have gone.
Stay at least two metres (three steps) away from people
DO NOT go to a GP, Pharmacy or hospital
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.
Please visit the NHS 111 online service for further advice - do not phone 111 unless you are unable to cope with the symptoms at home in order to ease the burden on our NHS.
If you are advised to attend surgery if possible attend alone
Do not attend early for your appointment and wait in the car if possible until the time of your appointment

We have introduced this system into our practice to help to signpost patients to the appropriate clinician or service. The GP team kindly request that you help our receptionists by answering a few simple questions so that they may direct you to the appropriate member of our team. All of our receptionists have received formal training in care navigation. Your co-operation is much appreciated.

Pharmacy First Scheme
This scheme is provided by local pharmacies who can see and treat some common minor illnesses, such as urine infections (in women), conjunctivitis, coughs & colds - check with your pharmacy for the full range of treatments provided.
This practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records from 31st March 2016.
These dates are subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being available to the practice.
This practice currently offers the facility for patients
- to book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online
- to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances
- to view online, export or print summary information from their record, relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any other items agreed between the practice and individual patient
We will publicise and promote our online services to our practice’s patients through the practice website, practice waiting room leaflets, posters and the Patient Participation Group by 31st March 2016.
Please note that as a security measure patients will be asked to provide consent and proof of identification prior to access being granted by the practice.
Bowel Cancer Screening
Say YES to Bowel Screening.
The NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme offers screening every two years to all men and women aged 60-69 - increasing up to age 75 over the next couple of years. If you are in this age group you will automatically be sent an invitation and screening kit in the post. If for some reason you have not received your kit, or did not take advantage of the screening and would now wish to participate - please call 0800 707 60 60 to request a kit.
Remember early diagnosis can save lives.
Allocated Named GP and Named GP With Overall Responsibility
As you may be aware, from April 2015, all practices have a requirement to inform registered patients of their allocated GP and the named GP who has the overall responsibility for their health care and support. The allocated GP and named GP for all registered patients at Adderley Green Surgery is Dr. Sri Sundaram. This does not mean that you can only see Dr. Sundaram, you may continue to see any other GP who is available within the practice.
Please welcome to our team, Pharmacist Prescriber, Naz Khideja. She will be helping out with medication reviews and running a minor ailments session at the practice. Naz is able to see and treat most common ailments including chest infections, urine infections, gastroenteritis, rashes, fevers as well as administering some vaccines.
LATE NIGHT OPENING
We offer late night appointments on Mondays, up until 8pm with our Nurse Practitioner, who can see and treat any minor illnesses. Ask at reception for further information.
We are offering vaccination against Meningitis University Freshers between the ages of 19-24. Please contact the practice to arrange vaccination if you fall in any of these co-horts.
ON LINE ACCESS TO RECORDS
This practice now offers the facility to make online appointment booking, repeat prescription ordering and the facility to view export or print any summary information from medical records, relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions. To register to use this service please speak to reception. Please note that proof of address and identification will be required in addition to signed consent before any passwords are issued.
We have now extended our range of patient services to include contraceptive implant and coil fittings. Dr. Bala (female GP) will be running an additonal clinic on Thursday afternoons for coil/implant fittings and Dr. Sri will carry out implant procedures before or after normal surgery hours. Speak to reception for further information.
