All surgeries are by appointment and can be made in person, by telephone or online. We use a scheme called Advanced Access where we are able to offer same day doctor appointments; therefore there is no need to book your appointments in advance. We also do still offer appointments that can be pre-booked if needed. 

Urgent Appointments

We will still have urgent appointments each day for the doctor and the nurse. Please telephone the surgery as early as possible for emergencies.

(Urgent appointments are not for repeat prescriptions, fitness for work certificates or for signing forms)

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse or nurse practitioner or other clinician rather than a doctor and you may be seen more quickly.

• Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses are qualified to deal with many acute and ongoing ailments.
• Pharmacist Prescribers who are qualified to see and treat minor ailments and medicine issues.
• Mental Health Practitioners can help with any mental health issues without the need to see a GP first.
• Health & Wellbeing Coaches for any non urgent issues that do not need medical intervention such as weight, low mood, lifestyle and exercise.

All doctors are available to give telephone advice usually after their morning surgery. Patients are advised to telephone before 10:30 in the morning to arrange this.

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation. Please request this at the time of booking or speak to your GP.  All of our practice staff have received chaperone training – download our policy below:

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

We are an accredited Post Graduate Training Practice in collaboration with West Midlands Deanery and a Teaching Practice in collaboration with Keele Medical School.  

We will have trainee GPs and medical students in practice throughout the academic year.  Trainee GPs and Medical students will be supervised by our GP team.

We see this as a great opportunity to help develop the skills of our doctors of the future and hope that their time spent here will be a memorable one.

We appreciate that some of our patients may not want to see a medical student, this will be your choice entirely, however, your support would be valued.

We are a member of the Primary Care Research Network in association with Keele University.  We actively participate in medical research studies wherever we can and from time to time we may ask our patients to participate in this valuable research.. 

We would value your co-operation with this, but we understand if you do not want to be involved.

Anyone who does participate will be informed by Keele University of the study results once they have been published.  

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
